I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, details matter, now more than ever. Your total lack of concern for the details got a Navy SEAL and more than a dozen civilians (including an 8 year old American girl) killed over the weekend. Their blood is on your hands because you couldn’t be bothered to actually do your job well.
During the transition, you claimed you didn’t need intelligence briefings because you’re “like, a smart person.” That’s pretty debatable. Regardless, no, like, smart person thinks they don’t need information prior to making decisions. And when I say information, I mean something of a higher caliber than Fox & Friends.
The site in Yemen had been identified during the Obama administration, but they opted not to act hastily so that your national security team, Cracker Jack group that they are, could perform a more fulsome assessment. Instead, you decide on a dangerous military action with a low probability of success while at dinner with Mad Dog, Steve, and Jared. These types of covert military actions should be thought through in the Situation Room, not over steak tartare.
You sent American soldiers into a 360° hail of gunfire against a heavily fortified enemy stronghold surrounded by land mines and guarded with heavy artillery. If it weren’t for the amazing training of our armed forces, more surely would have died. All because you couldn’t be bothered to take this shit seriously.
And now it looks like the intelligence that was gathered had actually already been posted online before the raid.
I can’t imagine what would have happened had Barack ordered a military raid six days into his first term that resulted in the death of a SEAL, the destruction of a $72 million aircraft, and the deaths of 15 civilians, including an 8-year-old American citizen. And then if it came or that he had made the decision over dinner with David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett without getting an intelligence briefing? All hellfire would have broken loose in the American political landscape.
You’re playing with live ammo now. People live and die because of what you say and do. Turn off the tv, put down your Mountain Dew, grow up, and do your job.
Otherwise, a lot more people will die before all of this is over.
